GAIA: Adelaide

In 2124 the world is an apocalyptic landscape after the cataclysmic events called “The Windfall.” Adelaide's Botanic Gardens boast an intricate network of AI-controlled maintenance systems known as “Gaia,” a digitally-preserved testament to nature’s perfection. Enter Inspector Lila Gardener, homicide detective investigating the murder of Adelaide’s great botanist: Dr. Victor Hale. Who killed Hale? How and why? What secrets lurk beneath the city’s sleek exterior? Lila is on the case, for beneath the vibrant foliage and synthetic streams, a mystery lays concealed…In this immersive, site-specific, new form of theater, you interact with your environment using our new AFOOT console.  All you need is your smartphone, a pair of headphones, and yourself in this theatrical walking tour of Adelaide.

★★★★ The cast of 11 actors are great, with very distinct characterisations that we quickly learn to love, hate or distrust. Across 9 scenes, they act out the plot and we follow along easily thanks to Asa Wember’s clear directions and Alexander Silber’s smart, sharp dialogue. A fine selection of original music by Wet Hands and other additional music adds to the experience and keeps you company as you walk between scenes.

SHADOWS OF THE PAST : ADELAIDE

"Shadows of the Past" is a haunting, romantic 19th century ghost story that centers around Amelia Edwards and William Gardener— who come together across class divides.
Set in the founding years of Adelaide's Botanic Gardens, our story intertwines local history and supernatural elements.

“Shadows of the Past" weaves together history, romance and a touch of the supernatural; exploring themes of love, loss, and the enduring connection between people and places across time.

In this immersive, site-specific, new form of theater, you interact with your environment using our new AFOOT console.  All you need is your smartphone, a pair of headphones, and yourself in this theatrical walking tour of Adelaide.

★★★★ The walking music is all very serene this time, keeping with the dreamy romance that is unfolding in our mind’s eye.

Shadows of the Past is more romance than ghost story so the supernatural element is unlikely to creep anyone out – nor is it meant to. But if it doesn’t reinstate your love of romance, it’s sure to reinstate your thrill of new discoveries as you’re led down the Garden path.

WHISPER WALK: EDINBURGH

A documentary-style testimonial piece that explores the intimate power and the deep connection between memory and place. As audiences walk through Edinburgh, voices gently whisper in their ears, stories tied to the very locations they pass. Each audience member becomes a confidant, a stranger trusted with quiet truths. This reflective journey invites participants to slow down, listen closely and reconnect with their own hidden memories and the city itself. Perhaps you will be inspired to leave your own memory. You will need a smartphone, headphones and a data plan.

★★★★ A marvellous adventure...

Whisper Walk is an intimate adventure that runs through a gamut of emotions. We are reminded of the importance of human connection, and the way places can trigger our memories. We are reminded to treasure those special moments that happen through life, and to never discount the impact a seemingly simple event may have on our lives. The voice actors tell their stories with all the heart, humour and drama that is needed to make an impact.

Where Whisper Walk ends, our own journey continues.
