Libby King (Jean) is a Brooklyn based queer actor, writer, and mom. Libby recently returned form three years in San Francisco and is very happy to to be back home in Brooklyn. Highlights from the West Coast: Libby premiered Patti & the Kid - a show that she and actor/writer Frank Boyd created - at On the Boards in Seattle. She performed in ACT’s production of Jacklyn Backhaus’s MEN ON BOATS, and was selected to be part of JUST THEATRE’s New Play lab - where she began writing her first full length play MOM. GONE. GRASS.! King is a member of the acclaimed Brooklyn theatre company the TEAM. For over a decade she has helped author and perform in award-winning published works. Her commitment to new work extends throughout her career, performing in premiers across the country and the UK; most notably, 27 by Abi Morgan, Tectonic Theatre Company’s The Laramie Project Cycle at BAM, and working with the SITI Company, 600 Highwaymen, the National Theatre of Scotland and David Byrne. She is currently developing a one woman show called We Found Amelia Earhart with Zhailon Levingston and will be in the world premiere of PREPAREDNESS by Hillary Miller at the Bushwick Starr this May/June.
