NOTED
Presented in Association with The Back Pack
August 2026 - Edinburgh Festival Fringe - Assembly Festival, Assembly Roxy Upstairs
Featuring: Pete Betcher, Katie Kohler, Lauren McFall and Alec Silver. Production Assistant: Julia DiPreta
The Back Pack's fast-paced, movement-based comedy extravaganza is a whirlwind of imagination, mischief, and delight. Hailed as "a live action cartoon" and "pure entertainment," the company's signature style creatively combines non-spoken performance, music, dance, and media with over 400 hand-drawn images strapped to the performers, transforming them with every turn of the page. Audiences are treated to surprises, laughter, and moments of wonder as they delve deeper into a vibrant, fever-dream fantasia. Bold, original, and irresistibly fun, it is storytelling at its most playful, and it sends everyone home smiling.

“★★★★★ The company stretches the boundaries of what theatre can be…
Their creative direction is exquisitely sophisticated as they toy with form and delivery….amusing and quirky throughout… authentic and exceptionally cool... It’s definitely something you won’t see anywhere else any time soon. ”
“★★★★ A mini-masterpiece of movement, coordination, [and] design...
A truly unique, family-friendly production... They’re right to be proud of it.”
“★★★★ Brilliant…This company seem to operate with the accuracy of a Swiss watch, only considerably more ridiculous… They bring the visual comedy to life with so much infectious excitement that you cannot help but be swept up in it. They genuinely look like they are having the time of their lives, and that enjoyment immediately transfers to the audience. Still beneath all of the silliness is an extraordinary level of technical skill…Overall, this is playful, inventive, wonderfully silly and technically astonishing…Noted is the best show of the fringe so far.”
“★★★★★ You may even want to go two or three times.”
“★★★★★ I’m grinning like a fool, loving every minute... Noted is family-friendly in the best possible way. There really is something here for everyone. It’s silly, funny, clever and astonishing.”

“★★★★ Performed flawlessly… Fantastic …Incredibly unique and creative production.”
“★★★★ Full of vigour and invention… A great choice for families and international audiences. ”
