THE ANTELOPE PARTY

By Eric John Meyer. Directed by Jess Chayes.

11/4/2021 - 12/5/2021 at the Wild Project in Manhattan

In THE ANTELOPE PARTY five friends gather weekly to revel in their love of the children’s cartoon My Little Pony. But they soon find themselves caught between their innocent Brony role playing game and an increasingly dangerous outside world that keeps changing the rules.

★★★★ A timely allegory of identity and belonging... Saddle up.
— Time Out New York
THE ANTELOPE PARTY is a timely hot take on unity, community, and cosplay-in-a-play.
— Broadway World
The acting is superb... This is one of the most ingenious uses of a set buildout on a small stage that I have seen. The versatile set serves at least five different settings, and the lighting and sound design become increasingly more complex and add realism to the increasing terror happening on stage.

CRITICS PICK
— The New York Times
Incredibly timely... Meyer’s script, especially as performed by this talented cast, creates a compellingly suspenseful production that shows how fear and the desire for power can quickly pervert and corrupt group dynamics. While the My Little Pony world might show the magic of friendship, the tribalism at the heart of The Antelope Party shows the dark rabbit hole that it can pull us into.
